"Openness, Caring, and Innovation" constitute the core values in nurturing talent at National Chi Nan University. Our university emphasis on shaping students' character, fostering knowledge acquisition, promoting distinctive sports and community service, while expanding students' international perspectives, fostering diverse learning experiences, and enhancing language proficiency to elevate international mobility. Our university aspires to be a distinctive, small yet excellent institution. The founding objectives of the university are rooted in three principles: forward-thinking and international perspectives in education, a balance between technological and humanistic views, and the promotion of Chinese culture coupled with strengthening overseas Chinese education functions. The overarching goal is to educate high-level talents for both domestic and overseas communities, cultivating students with a caring disposition and a commitment to social service.

In alignment with the educational mission of our university, the College of Management has formulated the educational objective of cultivating students with foresight, adaptability, and resilience in the face of future societal and global changes. This objective specifically focuses on instilling in students the ability to propose actionable solutions through feasibility analysis. Following this educational mission, the college aims to nurture students who possess three key attributes: foresight, adaptability, and resilience (referred to as the "3F"), along with proficiency in actionable feasibility analysis. The goal is to empower students to seamlessly integrate into the industry upon graduation, enabling ongoing self-development and fostering a cross-disciplinary, cross-sectoral, and international learning approach. This approach is designed to meet industry demands and contribute to societal development.

The educational objectives of our department are established based on the university's overarching goal of nurturing outstanding individuals with a proactive attitude, service enthusiasm, humanistic care, scientific literacy, lifelong learning, and an international perspective. Additionally, these objectives align with the College of Management's mission to cultivate modern business and management professionals with a global vision, macro-level thinking, and a dedicated and collaborative work ethic by integrating industry-academic resources and adhering to the principles of technological integration and resource sharing.

Through periodic self-assessment, we review our educational objectives and the core competencies that graduating students should possess. We regularly evaluate the curriculum to enhance the quality of student learning and professional efficacy, promote teaching improvement, and create a high-quality learning environment. The department's educational objectives can be summarized as follows:

  1. Cultivate professionals with expertise in business knowledge, international perspectives, innovation, problem-solving abilities, as well as ethical values and teamwork spirit.
  2. Foster specialized management talents in international marketing and planning, international business operation and strategic management, and international investment and financial analysis.

To cultivate talents with the 3C qualities, the department employs the spirit of Internationalization, Industrialization, and Integration (3I) to develop distinctive features in its educational approach. By strategically considering industry trends and future developments, the department aims to nurture professionals in international business management who possess strong Competence, high Confidence, and good Character (3C). The definitions of the 3C qualities are outlined as follows:

Competence :

Possession of an international perspective and proficiency in foreign languages.Ability to perform independently in the field of "International Business Management," including roles in the international operations departments of domestic and foreign companies, operational departments of multinational organizations in Taiwan, and specialized positions in domestic and international financial institutions. Expertise in international business marketing and financial management roles.


Confidence :

Confidence in expressing oneself, communicating effectively, leading, negotiating, adapting to changes, and leading changes in the workplace within the field of "International Business Management."Demonstrated practical skills and confidence in teamwork.

Character :

Possession of positive emotional intelligence in the workplace within the field of "International Business Management."Respect for individual and cultural differences.Courage to take on responsibilities and fulfill commitments, adherence to corporate ethics, and a sense of responsibility towards sustainable business practices.

In accordance with the 3I spirit, our department employs Internationalization, Industrialization, and Integration as distinctive features in our educational approach. The implementation strategies are outlined as follows:

  1. Internationalization :
    • Curriculum and Learning:

      • Promotion of international case studies and foreign language materials.
      • Offering courses entirely in English.
      • Setting advanced-level English proficiency as a graduation requirement.
      • Introduction of second language courses.
      • Implementation of overseas business internships.
      • Additional courses in business English, conversation, and writing.
      • Hosting English Time chat rooms led by international students.
      • Encouragement of campus-wide international-themed activities.
    • Faculty:

      • Strategic recruitment of domestic and international Ph.D. holders.
      • Emphasis on faculty with international qualifications.
      • Invitation of foreign scholars and encouragement of overseas research visits and academic exchanges.
      • Participation in cross-national research and publication of international papers.
    • Students:

      • Utilization of overseas and exchange students.
      • Promotion of student exchanges and internships abroad.
      • Encouragement of student participation in undergraduate research projects funded by the National Science Council.

These strategies collectively aim to infuse an international perspective into the curriculum, faculty composition, and student experiences, fostering a globally-oriented environment within the department.

2. Industrialization :

    • Effective utilization of industry case materials and courses.
    • Offering specialized courses in enterprise management.
    • Establishment of enterprise programs and domestic/foreign corporate internships.
    • Encouragement of student participation in industry competitions, corporate innovation contests, and competitions related to wealth planning.
    • Collaboration in creating collective graduation resumes.
    • Introduction of industry-related campus events.
    • Organization of relevant seminars and discussions.
  • Faculty:

    • Effective use and recruitment of adjunct faculty with industry experience.
    • Selection of industry professionals for co-teaching opportunities.
  • Students:

    • Encouragement and financial support for students to undertake corporate visits.
    • Promotion of student involvement in industry-academic collaboration.
    • Execution or supervision of industry-related research initiatives.

3. Integration :

  • Integration of School Resources:

    • Utilization and integration of resources across departments and colleges.
    • Implementation of integrated thematic research or industry-academic collaboration.
    • Joint research or supervision initiatives.
    • Collaboration in offering integrated thematic courses.
  • Integration of Theory and Practice:

    • Introduction of specialized topics in business management.
    • Promotion of corporate internships.
    • Encouragement of instructors to incorporate case studies and practical content in their courses.
    • Establishment or encouragement of student participation in interdisciplinary programs and competitions.
    • Encouragement of students to pursue certifications.
