Welcome, freshmen, to join the big family of the International Business Study at National Chi Nan University! Here, you will encounter a group of classmates who learn from each other and collaborate, caring senior students who look out for you, friendly and knowledgeable teachers, and the all-knowing assistant sisters in the department office. Whether you have something happy or sad to share, or you suddenly feel hungry during class, the department office located on the fourth floor of the Management Building, just to the right after coming out of the elevator near the Learning Hill(勵學坡), is always open for you. Feel free to drop by, grab some cookies or candies in the snack area, have a chat with the assistant sisters or teachers, and face challenges with a positive and proactive mindset.
As a student, the essence lies in "learning everywhere" and maintaining a vibrant and positive attitude at all times. The university period is a crucial stage for cultivating personal competitive advantages before entering the workforce. The International Business Study at National Chi Nan University provides diverse learning opportunities and a conducive environment for you to explore various facets of yourself, identify the expertise you want to develop, and determine your future career direction.
Our department offers specialized courses in three sub-fields: "International Business Operations and Strategy," "International Finance and Accounting," and "International Marketing and Innovation." Additionally, we provide courses conducted entirely in English and cover topics related to cross-cultural management, aiming to equip you with the skills to become a globally competitive management professional.
The "Enterprise Management Project" and "Corporate Internship" are two prominent practical courses in our department. During the junior year, under the guidance of the instructor for the Enterprise Management Project, you and your team have the opportunity to participate in on-campus and off-campus business entrepreneurship or corporate case competitions. Alternatively, you may assist in promoting local industries with unique characteristics.
The Corporate Internship course is offered during both the semester and summer break. Over half of the senior students have experienced internships with domestic and international companies. Additionally, about 10 students from our department successfully apply for short-term exchanges with foreign universities each year.
Moreover, starting from the first semester of the junior year, students can apply for the five-year integrated master's program. Upon acceptance, they become preparatory students for the master's program in our department. Subsequently, by participating in the master's program application process, they can potentially earn a master's degree as early as the second semester of their first year in the master's program.
During the university phase, the most crucial aspect is discovering something you like and are passionate about. It involves willingly investing time and effort to gather relevant information, understand it, and become proficient in the chosen field. In the past, you might have been more accustomed to following the advice of parents or teachers, with less initiative in exploring your own interests.
Upon joining the International Business Study at National Chi Nan University, we hope you will proactively try various activities, delve into different fields of expertise, participate in events organized by the department's student association, and perhaps engage in regular practices with at least one sports team associated with the department. Through these experiences, you can discover your passion and develop it into a potential career path.
In this process of self-discovery, remember that you are not alone. Your peers, senior students, mentors, and the assistant sisters in the department office are all excellent resources for guidance. Interact with people around you, join Line groups and Facebook communities within the department, and build a network that will be a valuable treasure throughout your life.
