As of Semester 1112, the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) tools like ChatGPT, DALL‐E 2, D‐ID and so on is introduced in this capstone English‐as‐a‐Medium‐of‐Instruction (EMI) course on the foundations of Strategic Management of Multinational Corporations (SMMC). The AI tools will support the course through facilitating Initiation‐Response‐Feedback (IRF), Think‐Pair‐Share (TPS), Brief Interactive Tasks (BITs), and assisting with the Term Projects (TPs) of the study groups.

In this course, students will be taught how to (1) assess the impact of environmental changes on a company, (2) analyze the organizational conditions within the company, and (3) create and execute effective Business and Corporate Strategies (BS & CS) to become and remain competitive. The course is comprised of lecture videos from Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) like Coursera. Those interested in earning a certificate from Coursera will be guided through the registration process and requirements by the instructor and TA.

This course utilizes a blended teaching approach combining the Flipped Classroom method and Problem‐Based Learning (PBL). Students will work in groups and use the online collaborative mindmap tool, Coggle, to analyze and present their comprehension from lectures. The course will culminate in TPs, where students will analyze and report on their chosen companyʹs strategies, and present their findings through video presentations in an end‐of‐semester online contest.

Upon finishing this course, students will be equipped with the necessary English language proficiency and self‐directed learning (SDL) skills as well as the competence including Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes (KSA) required for strategizing and managing multinational corporations.
