Marketing/Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC)/Professor Yu Fang Chang
This course aims to integrate the theoretical foundations and principles of Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC), enabling students to understand the application of IMC and the execution and strategy of advertising. Additionally, students will become familiar with the development and current status of the advertising industry in Taiwan, as well as the analysis of advertising cases and the application of theoretical concepts. In recent years, digital advertising has surpassed traditional media advertising, and this course will also explore relevant knowledge in social media advertising and digital content.
The course content includes:
- Concepts and principles of Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC), Integrated Brand Promotion (IBP), and advertising in digital marketing communication.
- Analysis of advertising and promotional organizations, consumer behavior, and communication processes.
- Advantages and disadvantages of using celebrities as advertising endorsers, and discussing whether their endorsement fits the brand.
- Objectives and budget of IMC programs, and areas where advertising expenses may be wasted.
- Development and current status of the advertising industry in Taiwan, creative planning, strategy and development, advertising strategy, and media evaluation.
- Media planning and strategy, and the application of IMC mix and effectiveness measurement of promotional programs.
- Ethical and social responsibility issues in advertising and society.

We covered various topics related to advertisements and also had class presentations (such as different types of advertisements, etc.). We needed to take the Google certification exam, and there were occasional activities during class. Attendance was also required.
